I have known Meg’s family for a long time, going back to our parents and even our Grandparents so I felt very privileged when I was asked to photograph this very special event on their family farm in rural Essex. I drove onto the farm and was met with an incredible Teepee set up in Meg’s parents garden, and Jacks Mum had set to work planting so many florals to ensure there was an abundance of beautiful flower displays decorating the grounds. Marquee weddings are one of my favourite days. They are usually one of the busier types of weddings that I photograph due to there typically being more guests invited because of the space inside a marquee and the extra room being that it is an outdoor wedding space, however I love these days as they seem so relaxed with a much more chilled vibe. With the weather in 2024, we were hit with rain, sun, rain, sun constantly but I feel it really added to the day and made everything so much more fun and exciting! Even with the rain, we managed some beautiful candid moments that wouldn’t have otherwise happened if it was sunny all day, and no matter how much rain came, Meg and Jack didn’t stop smiling, laughing and enjoying their special day with their family & friends. The countryside vibe was in full swing, and I just adored the smaller details such as Meg wearing her Mum’s wedding shoes, and Jacks added touch of a top hat and cane. Everything came together beautifully and the faces of the guests when the singing waiters started up were a true picture!
